This week, thanks to a very generous gift from my lovely wife, Jo, I am ensconced in an isolated cottage in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales (The Garsdale Retreat) being spoilt rotten with their amazing award-winning food. I am thoroughly enjoying the luxury of having nothing to do but write and I am definitely making the most of this rare opportunity. I have strict instructions from my Assistant not to return until my next two books are finished - no pressure then!
Seriously, though, it has been an incredibly difficult year and I have really struggled to find time to write. I am so grateful to everyone for their patience and for putting up with all my promises – they have been genuine intentions!
