I am delighted to announce that (at long last!) the fifth instalment of the Wolves of Dumnonia saga is now available from Amazon on Kindle and in paperback.
I am so sorry for the long gap between The Apprentice Prince and The Exiles Return. Life has been complex and challenging since COVID, and unfortunately many things impeded my continuation of the Wolves saga. I thank you for your immense patience and understanding.
The good news is that things are back on an even keel, and the initial draft of the sixth instalment, The Monk’s Sword, is complete and the book is scheduled for release in Easter 2026.

A search for family. A quest for identity.
Rathulf has learned to his detriment that his wolven standard is no longer welcome in Dumnonia, and he must flee from Caer Uisc for his life. While being pursued on his stolen horse, he falls foul of a violent storm. Having missed his passage back home and lost to despair, Rathulf gives up hope of finding his family. But he is mistaken, for the fates have been meddling, and his fall was no accident. His kin are nearer than he knows.
Rathulf’s misplaced actions in the capital have caught the attention of Rathulf’s sworn enemy—Dumnonia’s regent, Earl Talec—who orders the kingdom to be scoured for the rebel interloper. It is not long before his inquisitor arrives at the Abbey of St Aldhelm’s to find a badly injured foreigner matching the fugitive’s description, bearing fresh arrow holes in his back.
News of the mysterious rebel’s appearance has also flown eastwards, and Saeric Iron-cleaver realises who it must be. Defying his Saxon masters’ explicit orders, Saeric risks all and rides to Caer Uisc, determined to find his brother before Caelin falls into the wrong hands.
Far away in Lærdalsfjorden, Jarl Sigvald anxiously awaits the return of the Storm Beater, which is now well overdue. Helga consults the fates, but their bleak answer speaks of one thing: calamity.
Amid all the turmoil, and as events draw the brothers inexorably closer, both find themselves questioning the meaning of family, love and kinship—and consequently their own sense of identity and purpose in this life.
The Exiles Return is the fifth volume in the historical saga The Wolves of Dumnonia.
Available now from Amazon on Kindle and in paperback.
